The 24-inch by 20-inch sign was valued at about $3, the report states.

Quagliaroli told officers he confronted the man, took back his sign and told the suspect -- later identified as Sherry -- that he “was going to file a police report in reference to the attempted theft.”

According to the report, Sherry allegedly told Quagliaroli to “go ahead” and left the scene.

Quagliaroli told officers the sign was placed in front of Kroger at 2295 Towne Lake Parkway, and that he staked out the location because about 150 of his signs had been allegedly stolen or vandalized over the last two years, the incident report states.

Quagliaroli was able to provide photos and the vehicle of Sherry during the alleged theft. Sherry was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on Monday and bonded out the same day.
