John Carrico purchased the winning Georgia Lottery’s 20th Anniversary Extravaganza instant ticket worth $5 million at Publix Supermarket at 3120 Mathis Airport Parkway in Suwanee.

He claimed his prize last Thursday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta. Georgia Lottery’s 20th Anniversary Extravaganza is an instant game loaded with cash prizes, including top prizes of $1 million and $5 million.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.
More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
