An 18-year-old man from Canton and a juvenile were apprehended after police were called to the Woodstock Knoll subdivision.

WOODSTOCK, GA — An 18-year-old man and a juvenile have been charged with several counts of entering autos in Woodstock, the Police Department said Friday.

Officers made the arrest after responding to a call of an entering auto in progress around 1:20 a.m. Saturday, March 24 in the Woodstock Knoll neighborhood. The caller told 9-1-1 dispatchers that two males "were seen walking away from the residence."

Woodstock officers arrived and set up a perimeter while others continued to look for the suspects. Soon after beginning those patrols, officers found two men matching the description in the back of a van that was leaving the community.

“We appreciate the caller for being vigilant and calling 911 when something looked suspicious," said Police Chief Calvin Moss. "Because of this, we were able to respond quickly and apprehend the responsible individuals. We want to remind our residents that if you see something, say something and call 911. A vigilant community is a safe community."

This isn't Powe's first run-in with the law in Cherokee County. According to Superior Court records, Powe was arrested by in 2016 Canton police and charged with one count of burglary in the first degree. In June 2017, he pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to seven years on probation under the First Offender Act.

However, on Tuesday, March 27, Powe's community supervision officer petitioned Cherokee County Superior Court to revoke the Canton resident's probation following his arrest by Woodstock police. He is also accused of not paying supervisory fees and restitution to the burglary victims, admitting to using marijuana, not completing a substance abuse treatment program and not partaking in community service hours mandated by his 2017 probation sentence. The petition is awaiting consideration by a Superior Court judge.
