Woodstock Police Unveils Newly Updated Motor Unit

The department has added two Can-Am Police F3 Spyders to its fleet in order to focus on traffic safety.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- The Woodstock Police Department has a new set of wheels. The department recently unveiled its newly updated motor unit. The department has added two Can-Am Police F3 Spyders to its fleet in order to focus on traffic safety.

After exhaustive research into various motorcycle options, the department decided on the purchase of the Can-Am Spyders based upon numerous criteria – the most important, officer safety. The Can-Am Spyders offer officers the stability of a 3-wheeled riding platform to aid in their duties on the roadways of Woodstock while also affording them the opportunity to carry more equipment to aid in response to emergencies.

The department said the newly updated motor unit has received a lot of praise from the community in just the few short days they have been in service.

"Not only have our motorcycle officers been focusing on driver safety issues, but they have been engaged with our community throughout the city offering them a chance to see the new Can-Am Spyders up close," Public Information Officer Sgt. Randy Milligan said in a release. "Public feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We are very excited about having another tool to engage with our community to continue our department’s proud tradition of community involvement and betterment."

The inaugural ride was completed April 3. The new vehicles with the Road Warrior Foundation in North Georgia as they made their way through the state on the foundation’s ride with four wounded veterans. This marks the Woodstock Police Department’s second time participating with the foundation in support of the nation’s wounded veterans, Milligan said.

Partners include Can-Am, Mountain Motorsports of Marietta, Fasten Products LLC, Chandler Graphics, SoundOff Signal and the Atlanta Spyder Riders.
