Woodstock Strengthens Noise Ordinance
The city now has a tiered fine system for noise ordinance violators.

The city of Woodstock has tightened up its noise ordinance.
The city council on Monday approved the second reading revising its ordinance.
The ordinance before states anyone deemed to have violated the city's ordinance should receive a fine not to exceed $100.
The change now states anyone convicted of violating the ordinance will be fined $100 on the first offense, $200 for the second, $400 for the third, $800 for the fourth and a maximum of $1,000 for the fifth and subsequent offenses in a 12-month period.
The change was applauded by resident Scott Fant, who on Monday said he and other residents in downtown Woodstock felt the changes were needed.
