Woodstock Wins Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
To receive the award, the city had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the city of Woodstock its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget.
The award represents a significant achievement by the city, and reflects the commitment of Woodstock and its staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
In order to receive the award, the city of Woodstock had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity's budget serves as:

- a policy document;
- a financial plan;
- an operations guide; and
- a communications device.
Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories, and the 14 mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award.
Overseeing the city’s efforts to achieve this prestigious award was Woodstock's Chief Financial Officer Robert Porche, who was also presented with a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation by GFOA.

The Government Finance Officers Association is a major professional association servicing the needs of nearly 19,000 appointed and elected local, state, and provincial-level government officials and other finance practitioners.
