New 10-acre expansion gives Idaho Botanical Garden room to grow (kivitv.com) — Boise residents now have 10 more acres to explore at the Idaho Botanical Garden, which just opened the first phase of its largest-ever expansion. The project adds new event and education spaces, thousands of plants, and a future therapeutic garden, and it will soon host a permanent home for the Boise Farmers Market next door. Expect more concerts, classes, and seasonal events in the expanded grounds through 2027.
   

2. Oregon's landscapes come alive in James Lavadour's 'Land of Origin' at Boise Art Museum (ktvb.com) — Boise residents can step into four decades of Oregon-inspired landscape paintings in James Lavadour's "Land of Origin," now on view at the Boise Art Museum. The traveling exhibition gathers work shaped by his daily walks on the Umatilla reservation, exploring how land, emotion, and paint intertwine in richly layered panels many years in the making.
   

3. Idaho Behavioral Health Council identifies at-risk areas for targeted spending of opioid funding (bigcountrynewsconnection.com) — Boise residents should know Idaho's Behavioral Health Council is steering opioid settlement dollars toward the counties and populations most at risk, including Boise and Ada. The council's recommendations, backed by recent overdose and prescription data, now head to the governor and Legislature, which will decide how millions in funding are spent on prevention, treatment, and rural services statewide.
   

4. Realtor.com ranking highlights Carolinas, Boise for competitively priced new homes (tradersunion.com) — Boise City ranks third nationwide in a new Realtor.com list of metros where newly built homes are competitively priced, especially compared with tight resale inventory. The report highlights how builders in select markets, including Boise, are expanding supply and sometimes listing new construction below comparable existing homes, shaping options for buyers facing today's mortgage-rate environment.
   

5. Idaho Army National Guard aids Big Grass Fire with water drops and rescue standby (idahonews.com) — Boise's role in Idaho wildfire response is highlighted as a Boise Fire Department paramedic joined an Idaho Army National Guard medevac crew supporting the Big Grass Fire with water drops and rescue standby. The agencies, which train together several times a year, also recently teamed up for Idaho's highest-ever helicopter hoist rescue, airlifting an injured hiker from Mount Idaho in July.
