• Washington Semi Truck Driver Involved in Fatal Idaho SUV Crash (newsradio1310.com) — Idaho State Police report that a 26-year-old man from Hayden was seriously injured Thursday when his SUV rolled on Highway 41 near Rathdrum, blocking southbound lanes and requiring an air ambulance to Kootenai Health. The same release details a separate fatal crash on Highway 200 near Hope, where a Clark Fork woman died after her Honda collided head-on with a semi-truck.

• 'National Trails Day' brings 100 volunteers to Canfield Mountain (cdapress.com) — A Hayden resident, Jim Manning, was among about 100 volunteers who spent National Trails Day clearing and maintaining popular trails on Canfield Mountain near Coeur d’Alene. The new Northern Rockies Trail Project organized the event to bring diverse trail users together, prevent closures from lack of maintenance, and encourage a culture of stewardship on heavily used local public lands.
