Search continues for Arizona man who fell off rocks near Broadway Bridge in Idaho Falls (localnews8.com) — Emergency crews are still searching the Snake River in Idaho Falls for an 88-year-old Arizona man who slipped off the rocks near the Broadway Bridge Sunday afternoon, prompting river restrictions between Broadway and South Tourist Park. Officials say difficult water conditions are complicating the dive effort and are asking residents to avoid the area while teams continue working and chaplains support the family.
2. PREP ROUNDUP: Sugar-Salem's win streak hits 35, Owyhee sweeps East Idaho soccer (postregister.com) — Idaho Falls High athletes had a busy weekend, with the girls soccer team rolling past Blackfoot 5–1 and junior Pablo Barbosa starring in a Tigers match at the Old Butte Soccer Complex. The roundup also highlights Sugar-Salem's remarkable 35-game win streak and strong showings from Thunder Ridge, Rigby, Skyline and other East Idaho programs across soccer, cross country and volleyball.
3. Best high schools in Idaho (localnews8.com) — Families in Idaho Falls will notice Compass Academy and Alturas Preparatory Academy both ranked among the top 25 high schools in Idaho, with strong academics and favorable student–teacher ratios. The statewide list compares public and private schools using Niche data, giving local parents a snapshot of how nearby options stack up against Boise, Meridian, and other districts.
4. City of Ammon to begin charging 3% convenience fees for electronic payments (localnews8.com) — If you pay Ammon utility bills electronically, expect a new 3% convenience fee starting today, while Idaho Falls continues charging a flat $4.50 per card transaction. Ammon officials say rising processing costs forced the change and encourage residents to use alternative payment methods if they want to avoid the added charge.
