Job: Director of Christian Education, First Presbyterian Church, Idaho Falls
Job Summary:
The Director of Christian Education works under the direct supervision of the Head of Staff and is responsible for planning and providing ministry for the youth of this church. The Director of Youth Ministries is the director of children’s church, Middle School, and Senior High activities.
Required Attributes:

·Demonstrated work experience leading youth in a church or Christian setting that exemplifies a love of children, youth, high schoolers, and their families.

·Ability to exercise tact, initiative, and good judgment with parents, youth, fellow staff members, volunteers, and supervisor
·Excellent oral and written communication skills including on social media
·Interacting and engaging with parents and families
Job Responsibilities:
·Mission Trip (yearly)
·Review and make ready Children’s Church curriculum
·Children’s Church
oRecruit, train, and coordinate teachers and volunteers
oTeach as needed
·Design and supervise special activities for 5th and 6th graders to align with churchwide family programs
·Coordinate Middle and High School programs and supervise activities, including monthly service projects
·Ensure coverage for Time with Young Disciples during worship
·Involvement with church-wide activities and Sunday worship attendance
·Involvement with Camp Sawtooth committee and relevant Snake River Presbytery programs
·Encourage and facilitate our youth going to Camp Sawtooth
·Attend meetings of the Spirituality and Lifelong Learning (SLL) Committee
·Administrative support and relationship building with other staff and church leadership
·Coordination with St. Paul’s Methodist Church to help with Vacation Bible School (VBS)
·Ensures youth programing complies with the requirements on the Idaho Falls First Presbyterian Church Safeguarding Our Children Policies, including confirming the training of teachers and volunteers
·Establish worship and fellowship for high school by creating a space focused on the needs of the generation while maintaining a focus on the Bible
Position Salary and Benefits:
·This is a salaried part-time position requiring 30 to 32 hours per week for a salary of $40,000 to $42,000 per year.
·Medical insurance is provided by the church through the PC-USA national denomination.
·A relocation benefit of up to $2500 is available as needed.
