John Giannini named All-American Cleaning & Restoration student-athlete of the week after Skyline victory (localnews8.com) — Skyline High School quarterback John Giannini in Idaho Falls has been named the All-American Cleaning & Restoration Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Grizzlies to a 35-24 win over Century. He threw for 328 yards, scored three total touchdowns, and credits his teammates and growing team chemistry for the strong start to the season.
   

2. Eighty-six Idaho students named 2027 National Merit Semifinalists (idahoednews.org) — Several Idaho Falls students have been named 2027 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, putting them among the top 1% of high school seniors nationwide. Teens from Compass Academy, Idaho Falls High, Skyline, and Thunder Ridge now move on to compete for prestigious scholarships and the coveted Merit Scholar title over the coming year.
   

3. Local students hosts first responders appreciation breakfast ahead of 25th anniversary of 9/11 (eastidahonews.com) — Students at Elevate Academy in nearby Ammon prepared a hearty breakfast to thank local first responders, including Idaho Falls Fire Department crews, ahead of the 25th anniversary of 9/11. After serving deputies and paramedics, they hand-delivered more than 30 boxed breakfasts to a Bonneville County fire station, where firefighters shared memories and appreciation for the community's support.
   

4. Multiple Crashes Reported on Highway Near Idaho Falls (newsradio1310.com) — Drivers around Idaho Falls should be aware of multiple crashes on US20 near mile marker 313, including a secondary collision as vehicles slowed for emergency crews. Idaho State Police say one driver was taken to the hospital, everyone involved wore seatbelts, and investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
   

5. Everyone deserves a Seat at the Table: Idaho Foodbank fundraiser highlights growing hunger in our communities (localnews8.com) — Idaho Falls residents are being asked to support the Idaho Foodbank, which supplies much of the food for Community Food Basket Idaho Falls and the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission. At a Snake River Landing fundraiser, leaders highlighted rising hunger, especially among local children, and explained that donations directly fund millions of meals distributed across eastern Idaho.
