• Nine brave first responders awarded the Idaho Medal of Honor (dailydispatch.com) — Two Idaho Falls Fire Department senior firefighters have been awarded the Idaho Medal of Honor for rescuing four people from an overturned car in a Bingham County canal while off duty and without protective gear. They were among nine first responders statewide recognized by the governor for extraordinary courage, highlighting the risks your local crews willingly take even off the clock. 
• Raven-Flint to build America's second Uranium conversion plant (interestingengineering.com) — Idaho Falls will play a supporting role as Raven-Flint advances uranium conversion technology, with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission now reviewing plans for engineering-scale work at the company's local radiochemistry lab. The firm also aims to build a pilot conversion plant at Idaho National Laboratory, potentially strengthening U.S. nuclear fuel supplies and bringing more specialized nuclear activity to eastern Idaho.
• Marijuana constitutional amendment on the ballot in Idaho's upcoming election (localnews8.com) — A Greater Idaho Falls Chamber forum recently spotlighted Idaho's proposed constitutional amendment on marijuana, which will appear on the November 3 ballot. Speakers in Idaho Falls debated whether only the Legislature or also citizens through initiatives should control marijuana and other psychoactive drug laws, giving local voters key context before they decide.
