• Downtown Lewiston Water Main Replacement to Begin Sept. 8 (dailyfly.com) — Downtown Lewiston drivers should prepare for lane reductions and intermittent closures on D Street starting Sept. 8, as the city replaces an aging water main and stormwater system. Work will run weekdays through November, and residents can contact KLK or Lewiston Public Works with questions about access and construction impacts. 
• Transfer station stops operatingon Sundays (lmtribune.com) — Lewiston's transfer station at the base of Lewiston Hill is no longer open on Sundays, with hours now running 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. City officials say the reduced schedule, in place since late July, should save about $65,000 a year while the facility continues handling household trash and demolition debris.
• AAA: Idaho gas prices jump 8 cents, average hits $4.57 (dailyfly.com) — Lewiston drivers are paying about $4.50 a gallon for regular gas, AAA reports, as Idaho's statewide average jumps to $4.57. The state now has the seventh-highest prices in the country, driven by higher crude costs and shrinking fuel supplies, so local households may feel more strain at the pump heading into fall.
