Meridian considers sewer, water rate increase (boisedev.com) — Meridian residents may see their monthly water and sewer bills rise about $2.71 if the City Council approves a proposed 4.2% rate increase taking effect October 1. City staff say the change is needed to keep the utility fund solvent and prepare for future infrastructure and regulatory costs, and a public hearing is scheduled for September 8. 
2. 'Absolute tragedy' on Kuna's Black Cat Road. Driver gets sentence in fatal crash (idahostatesman.com) — A Meridian man killed while biking on Kuna's North Black Cat Road has led to a felony conviction and prison sentence for the driver, nearly two years after the crash. The judge called the case an "absolute tragedy" as the victim's family described their loss, while the driver's brief departure from the scene proved central to the jury's verdict.
