• Idaho under emergency drought after 'extraordinary' warm winter (boisestatepublicradio.org) — Oakley and the surrounding basin are facing some of Idaho’s worst water shortages this year, with supplies already 44% short after an unusually warm, low-snow winter. Governor Brad Little has declared a statewide drought emergency, allowing faster water-rights transfers so canal companies and farmers can move limited supplies where they’re most needed and potentially qualify for federal drought assistance.
