• Idaho Department of Correction signs federal 287(g) immigration agreement (spokesman.com) — Idaho's Department of Correction has joined a federal 287(g) agreement with ICE, expanding how state officers help with immigration enforcement once inmates finish their Idaho sentences. Payette County Sheriff Andy Creech, speaking for the Idaho Sheriffs' Association, says sheriffs already cooperate with ICE but opposes making such agreements mandatory, citing limited manpower and a desire to keep local and federal roles distinct.
