• First phase of Montrose Sports Complex nears completion (krem.com) — Post Falls is moving closer to opening the first two baseball fields at the new Montrose Sports Complex, with city staff saying phase one should be ready next year. The Parks and Recreation and Urban Forestry Commission recently reviewed four layout options for the second phase, which could add adult softball and baseball fields, parking, a community center, and possibly a splash pad. The complex sits on 6.6 acres off Empire Way near Orgill. 
• 'Nicklas was so loved'; Family shares grief over teen who drowned in Spokane River (929zzu.com) — A 13-year-old Spirit Lake boy drowned Saturday while swimming across the Spokane River near Ironhorse Circle in Post Falls, and his family is asking for privacy as they grieve. Loved ones describe Nicklas Beckstead as kind and deeply devoted to family, and a verified GoFundMe is helping cover time off work, funeral costs, and counseling. Emergency crews and medical staff were thanked for their efforts despite the tragic outcome.
• William Henry Von Behren Jr., 76 (cdapress.com) — Friends and neighbors are remembering William "Bill" Von Behren Jr., who recently passed away after decades of raising his family in North Idaho and serving youth in Post Falls. Bill was a Scout Master here and coached local kids in several sports, and he and his wife Sandy played co-ed softball and volleyball in Post Falls. His family recalls his humor, love of the outdoors, and deep devotion to his children and grandson.

I want to thank yoi ALL for being courteous and not starting fights ..I enjoy seeing your toughts and comments...I enjoy the different perspectives… (Nextdoor E. 3rd St) - City pools are now closed for the season, but the splash pads at Browns Park, Discovery Playground, Edgecliff Park, and Greenacres Park will remain open through October 15!
