2nd Person Dies After Branch Falls On Crowd At Fireworks Show
It happened Tuesday night near the Rock Island County Courthouse for Fourth of July celebration, media outlets reported.

ROCK ISLAND, IL — A second person has died and five others were hurt when a tree branch fell during a fireworks show in Rock Island, according to local media outlets. Witnesses told media outlets dozens of people were sitting under a tree on the courthouse lawn when the branch began cracking.
Some who heard the branch fall initially believed it was just part of the Red White and Boom show. The tree was reportedly about 100 years old.
KWQC said the two people killed have been identified as Daniel Mendoza, 61, of Rock Island, and 72-year-old Lawrence Anderson of Moline.

Some of those hit by the branch remain hospitalized, including a pregnant woman who was injured and gave birth after being taken to a hospital, according to KWQC.
