5 IL High School Grads To Play In Super Bowl 60

Former high school athletes from 30 states will be playing in Sunday's matchup between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

Some familiar Illinois names are on the roster in Sunday’s Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Five of the players on the two NFL rosters got their start playing high school football in Illinois, according to High School Football America. They include two players on offense and three on defense for the two squads.

New England Patriots

  • Vederian Lowe, offensive tackle, Auburn High School (Rockford)
  • Robert Spillane, linebacker, Fenwick High School (Oak Park)

Fourteen former Texas high school athletes are on the rosters, with eight playing for the Patriots and six for the Seahawks. California has 13 players on the two teams’ rosters, and Florida has eight.

In all, former high school athletes from 30 states will be playing in Super Bowl 60.
