80 Degrees For Chicago Area, Increased Fire Danger This Week
Due to the dry and warm conditions, there is a heightened fire risk, especially on Wednesday.
ILLINOIS — Unseasonable warmth is expected all week, as temperatures will reach 80 degrees in the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday will be the coolest day of the work week, with a high of 71 degrees expected. The entire week looks to be dry and mostly sunny, according to the weather service forecast.
Tuesday will have a high of 78 degrees, Wednesday a high of 81, Thursday a high of 81 and Friday a high of 79 degrees.

Gusts on Tuesday could be as high as 20 mph, and as high as 30 mph on Wednesday, according to the weather service.

Due to the dry and warm conditions, there is a limited fire weather risk on Tuesday, a significant fire weather risk on Wednesday and an elevated fire risk on Thursday, the weather service said.

Windy conditions on Wednesday will create favorable conditions for rapid spread of brush fires, which could be difficult to control. Thursday won't be as windy, but the dry conditions on that day will also present an elevated risk, according to the weather service.
Milder temperatures will continue into Saturday, which has a high of 76, and a chance of storms. Sunday will be cooler, with a high of 60 degrees, according to the weather service.
