Brides-To-Be Say 'Yes To The Dress' At National Bridal Sale Event
Bridal salons across Illinois will participate in the fourth annual National Bridal Sale Event starting Saturday, July 20.

ACROSS ILLINOIS—Attention all brides-to-be: if you're looking for a wedding gown for your big day, lace up your running shoes and head to your nearest bridal salon for National Bridal Sale Day, which falls on Saturday, July 20. More than 1,000 independent, locally owned bridal shops, including top salons, in the United States and Canada will participate in the fourth annual sales event.
Many of the bridal salons will be offering up to 80% off on designer gowns. Although July 20 is the official sale event, some salons have extended their sales through July 27. The big bridal gown sale is similar to Black Friday and Small Business Saturday for other retail businesses. National Bridal Sale Day is also recognized by Chase’s Calendar of Events and is scheduled annually on the third Saturday in July, says the event’s creator, Sue Maslowski, owner of Jay West Bridal in Haddonfield, N.J.
“It also means brides do not have to shop the Internet for price,” Maslowski says. “They can walk into any participating bridal salon across the country and in Canada or Mexico on that day and touch, see and feel what they are purchasing with no surprises. And often, they can take the gown home the same day.”

Eva’s Bridal International in Orland Park will be running its National Bridal Sale event through July 27. The salon will be serving wine and cheese on weekends of the sale. The family-owned bridal salon has brought in brand-new designer dresses including 2019 gowns especially for the sale in addition to floor samples.
“We have some great dresses and great bargains,” owner Chad Ghusein said. “We’ve had brides coming in ahead of time to avoid the frenzy. Almost every bride who came in this past weekend walked out with a dress.”
