Connie Shifflet, of New Lenox, photographed her 8-month-old Yorkshire terrier, Bindi, who she says "loves hanging out in her toy box, when she's not in my arms. She brings so much love to our family."

Laura Vlosak saw this red-tailed hawk and grabbed her camera in Tinley Park. "This beauty was sitting on a fence looking for its next meal," she said. "So majestic. I was able to drive right up to it and snap this photo before it flew down on the other side of the fence."

Joe Kloptowsky sent in this photograph he took recently of the St. Joe Lighthouse at Lake Michigan. "The lighthouse has been sculpted by the wind, ice and waves making it a cold and icy wonderland," he tells Patch.
