Man's Body Recovered From Grain Bin

The 66-year-old man died of traumatic injuries, the coroner's office said.

MARSEILLES, IL — A 66-year-old man who was recovered from a grain bin died of traumatic injuries, the LaSalle County Coroner's Office said.

According to officials, the coroner's office was called to 2654 N. 2950th Road in Marseilles Tuesday night after firefighters recovered the man's body from inside a grain bin.

He was identified as Owen Floyd Severson, 66, of Sheridan.

An autopsy conducted Wednesday indicated Severson died of traumatic injuries as a result of a grain bin/auger accident.

The incident is under further investigation by the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office and the LaSalle County Sheriff’s office, the coroner said.
