Severe Weather Possible, Stormy Weekend Ahead For Illinois
The weather service said the greatest coverage of storms is expected on Saturday and Saturday evening.
ILLINOIS — Although most of Friday will be dry with seasonable temps, storms are possible for the rest of the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain could begin Friday night, with a small chance of light showers late Friday afternoon, mainly west of Interstate 39. Shower and storm chances will then increase from west to east on Friday evening, the weather service said.

Saturday and Sunday will both have highs in the upper 70s, with a high of 79 on Saturday and a high of 77 on Sunday. According to the weather service, both days will have a chance of storms.
The weather service said a few storms could be strong to severe, with a threat of gusty winds.

AccuWeather also called for "a couple of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday," adding that the Chicago Air and Water Show could be interrupted by the storms.

After a stormy weekend, Monday looks to be dry and sunny with a high of 80 degrees.
