Dangerous Heat, Thunderstorms Likely For Chicago Area; IL Weather
A period of dangerous heat is likely next week, the weather service said.
ILLINOIS — Thunderstorms are possible both Saturday and Sunday, before dangerous heat and humidity is expected for the work week, according to the National Weather Service.
There is a limited thunderstorm risk on Saturday and Sunday, with a high of 78 on Saturday and a high of 83 on Sunday.
Saturday has a chance of showers in the afternoon, and a chance of showers and storms late Saturday into Sunday, according to the weather service. There is also a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day on Sunday and Sunday night.

A period of dangerous heat and humidity is likely next week, and heat index values over 100 degrees are likely. A heat index over 105 degrees is possible Tuesday and Wednesday for parts of the area, the weather service said.
According to Accuweather, the high for Chicago on Tuesday will be 98 degrees and 97 on Wednesday.
