Voting By Mail: Take The Illinois Patch Survey
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a surge in mail-in ballots is expected for the November election.
ILLINOIS — Voters in Illinois who have requested mail-in ballots will begin receiving them on Sept. 24. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a record number of people are expected to cast their ballots in this manner for the Nov. 3 election.
Recent operational changes within the U.S. Postal Service have reportedly led to widespread mail delays, elimination of overtime for postal workers, carriers being instructed to leave mail behind and the decommissioning of mail sorting machines.
