Wet Snow Could Impact Friday Commute For Northern Suburbs: NWS
Rain is expected further south with 90 percent chance of precipitation throughout Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.
ILLINOIS — Travel may be tricky Thursday night and Friday morning, especially in the northern suburbs, due to snow and rain. The National Weather Service said the wet snow could result in "significant" travel impacts near and north of the Wisconsin state line.
There is a 40 percent chance of snow, mainly after 1 a.m., Thursday night going into Friday. Wind gusts could reach as high as 15 mph. Skies will be mostly cloudy throughout the next few days.
For Friday, NWS predicts a chance of snow before 10 a.m., turning to rain between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., before switching to a mix of the two after 1. The chances of precipitation in the Chicago area is 90 percent. NWS said confidence in where the band of heaviest snow will fall "remains low and subtle shifts in its placement will change impacts over short distances."

Saturday will be partly sunny, with a high near 37, as wind gusts possibly getting as high as 20 mph. Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 45, as things warm up a bit to start next week.
