Coroner IDs Crystal Lake Man as Motorcyclist Killed in Western Bypass Crash
The five-vehicle crash happened on the Route 31 Western Bypass in Algonquin Saturday evening.

ALGONQUIN, IL - A 35-year-old Crystal Lake man killed in a five-vehicle crash on the Route 31 Western Bypass in Algonquin Saturday evening has been identified as Alex J. Misurelli.
The crash occurred on Route 31 just north of Route 62 at about 5:41 p.m., McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said Sunday. Three motorcycles, which were headed north on Route 31, crossed the median and hit another car and an SUV, according to the Daily Herald.
Misurelli, who was on one of the motorcycles, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 6 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.

Another motorcyclist was taken by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, according to the Daily Herald. The driver of the car and a third motorcyclist were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday on Misurelli.
The Algonquin Police Department and Kane County Accident Investigation Unit are investigating the crash.
