“Nearly three years ago, the library board and management decided to move forward with this construction/renovation project in response to community needs and patron requests,” Executive Director Sara Murray said. “We’re celebrating the completion of this project but we’re also saying ‘thank you’ to our patrons for their patience and flexibility as we worked to upgrade our buildings and services.”

Murray, Board President Katrina McGuire, and several library trustees will be leading ribbon cutting ceremonies at 11 a.m. at the Harnish Main Library and at noon at the Eastgate Branch Library.

Everyone will receive a passport at the door. Attendees who receive the required punches on their passport will receive a free treat coupon.

The Algonquin Area Public Library District has more than 23,000 cardholders.
