Algonquin Man Faces 45 Charges In Child Porn Case

ALGONQUIN, IL — A 50-year-old Algonquin man has been arrested and faces several child porn charges.

Scott D. Krueger remains behind bars at the McHenry County Jail following his arrest Wednesday, according to online jail records. His bail has been set at $500,000.

Police launched an investigation into Krueger after receiving several cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to a news release from the Algonquin Police Department.

On Wednesday, authorities with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Illinois State Police, the Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Algonquin Police Department conducted a search of Krueger's home in the 300 block of Country Lane in Algonquin.

Krueger was arrested and now faces 45 felony charges, including 17 counts of child pornography - reproduce or distribute victim under 13; three counts of child pornography - exhibit, reproduce, disseminate film, video, photo; 19 counts of child pornography - possess visual reproduction on computer - victim under 13; and six counts of child pornography - possess visual reproduction on computer.

Authorities say there is no indication the images found during the search depict acts or involve children within the village of Algonquin.

Krueger is next expected in court on Sept. 5 for a hearing in McHenry County.
