Algonquin Week Ahead Weather: Wind To Calm Down

A windy first half of the week is expected to die down, providing some fairly calm weather on Thanksgiving Day.

ALGONQUIN-LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — This Thanksgiving week, we can expect the heavy winds to turn into relatively calm weather. Monday afternoon and evening, wind gusts may blow as hard as 30 mph.

Tuesday we can expect the heavy winds to die down by nighttime, calming down to light winds by Wednesday.

The rest of the week, including Thanksgiving, some clouds will block the sun, but the weather will be largely calm. High temperatures should be between 40 and 50 degrees throughout the week.

This Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 50. Breezy, with a south southwest wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 37. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a temperature rising to near 41 by 10am, then falling to around 34 during the remainder of the day. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 21. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 33. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming west southwest in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Thanksgiving Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50.

Friday Night: A chance of rain between 7pm and 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.
