Algonquin's Nero's Pizza Ordered To Pay Over $30K Before Closing

The restaurant hadn't paid rent in the year of 2017, according to reports.

ALGONQUIN, IL — A local pizza restaurant that is closing has been ordered to pay over $30,000 in rent, court records say, according to the Northwest Herald.

Attorneys filed a complaint on Aug. 25 in the McHenry County court, according to the Herald, against Nero's, who was given a five-day notice to vacate.

Less than a month after the complaint was filed, on Sept. 18, Nero's was ordered to pay $31,687 in rent after failing to do so in 2017.

Nero's was in the news in mid-2017 after a 29-year-old man skipped his tab and jumped into the Fox River, later to be found dead.
