Officials said one person was killed in the explosion, while a 76-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were transported to Loyola University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Due to the severity of the burns sustained, officials have not yet been able to positively identify the person killed in the blast, according to the McHenry County Coroner's Office. An autopsy was performed Monday, and toxicology results are pending.

The investigation remains ongoing by the coroner's office, sheriff's office and the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office.
