The National Weather Service issued an extreme heat warning for the entire Chicagoland area as forecasters predict dangerous conditions.

ALGONQUIN, IL — Dangerous heat and humidity will hit Algonquin this week, according to the National Weather Service, with highs well into the 90s and peak temperatures of up to 105 degrees likely.

The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning in McHenry County. Conditions are expected to get dangerously hot and humid starting Monday through late Wednesday, forecasters said.

"The magnitude of anticipated heat, combined with oppressive warmth at night will lead to hazardous conditions, particularly for the elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions," forecasters said.
