ALGONQUIN, IL — Algonquin police responded to a Target parking lot after multiple witnesses called 911 to report a possible child abduction involving a juvenile who was heard yelling that the man she was with was not her father.
Officers quickly located the vehicle and investigated the situation. Police determined the man was, in fact, the child's father, according to police.
The child and her father were safe, police said, and no crime occurred.
Police thanked the witnesses who called 911 and emphasized that reports involving the safety of a child are taken seriously and investigated promptly.
