Area Storage Facilities Offer Up Units for Community Garage Sale

Two area storage facilities will be offering up space in its units in coming weeks for a community garage sale.

The community garage sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 8 through June 10 at Life Storage Algonquin, 2301 W. Algonquin Road, Algonquin, and Life Storage Carpentersville, 2253 Randall Road, Carpentersville, said Jennifer Clark, store manager for Life Storage Algonquin.

Items will be sold out of storage units. Owners of units will be able to clear out unwanted items. Area residents interested in using a 10-foot by 10-foot empty storage unit to sell items during the community garage sale also can do so for free.

“Our customers had been mentioning they wanted to sell things out of their units and we decided to do the garage sale,” Clark said. 

Last year, which was the community garage sale’s inaugural year, items were sold out of about 32 units and more than 200 people stopped by over the weekend.

This year, the turnout is expected to be even better, Clark said.
