Blaze Damages Lake In The Hills Manufacturing Plant

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — No one was injured in a fire at a manufacturing plant in Lake in the Hills on Thursday morning.

The blaze broke out at 14 Walter Court, which is where AFC Materials Group is located. Fire crews first at the scene found smoke and fire coming from the exhaust of a machine used to make fabrics for cooking, according to fire officials.

Everyone was evacuated from the building, and the blaze was bought under control within 35 minutes. No one was injured in the fire, according to authorities.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the plant remains open. A damage estimate is not yet available.
