Casey Urlacher Announces Republican Primary Candidacy For State Senator

Conservative Mayor Of Mettawa Seeking To Replace Retiring Senator Duffy

METTAWA — Mettawa Mayor Casey Urlacher today formally announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for 26th District Illinois State Senator. The open primary nomination process began with the recent announcement by State Senator Dan Duffy that he would not seek
re-election. The 26th District encompasses thirty municipalities within the counties of Lake, McHenry, Kane and Cook.

“We need to elect a new Republican Senator who is a committed conservative that will promote traditional family values when creating state government policies and practices. We need to elect a new Republican Senator who is a fiscal conservative that will adhere to core Republican values and principles in the fight to end Illinois government’s addiction to spending, taxing and borrowing. I pledge to do both as our new State Senator,” said Urlacher. “I support the demand for structural reform to a government finance and personnel system which has been unsustainable for a decade. There is no easy road back to solvency, but it will take experienced elected officials with first-hand experience in government finance and government operations. I have that experience.”

Urlacher is a small business owner and investor with interests in real estate and construction. A graduate of Lake Forest College with a degree in Business, Urlacher also played in the National Football League (NFL) and was a former player with the Chicago Bears.

“I undertake this effort with the same enthusiasm and commitment as when I ran for Mayor of Mettawa. I plan to knock on 10,000 doors and have committed to spend $300,000 to get my message out to the voters in this huge district. I have spent the last month planning with advisors and financial supporters to make sure all of the practical aspects of a full blown campaign effort are in place, and we will now be running full steam ahead,” said Urlacher.

“I have outlined my core beliefs on my website for citizens to review. For those Republicans who agree with my conservative stands on the issues, I hope they will come visit me at my first family oriented fundraiser on November 22, 2015 unless I see them at their front door first.”
