Driver Dies In Crash After Swerving To Avoid Hitting Deer: Police
The collision happened over the weekend south of Burlington.
KANE COUNTY, IL — A driver was killed in a one-vehicle crash that occurred after he swerved to avoid hitting a deer south of Burlington over the weekend, authorities said.
The collision happened after the deer crossed in front of the Ford Focus that was heading south on Peplow Road near Ellithorpe Road, authorities said.
The driver, James D. Coffman, 50, of Cortland, swerved and lost control of his car, which rolled twice before crashing into a utility pole, authorities said. Coffman was taken to Kishwaukee Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
