Drug Dealer With Nearly 1 Pound of Cocaine In Car Sentenced
The Interstate 90 traffic stop resulted in drug charges for Michael Briley of Minnesota.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL —A 54-year-old Minnesota man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after authorities busted him with nearly one pound of cocaine in his car on Interstate 90 in 2017. Michael Briley pleaded guilty to possession of 400 to 900 grams of cocaine, a Class 1 felony, prior to being sentenced in McHenry County, according to a news release from the state's attorney's office.
The charge stems from the Aug. 31, 2017 traffic stop along I-90. Briley was a passenger in the car when an Illinois State Police trooper found just under one pound, or 430 grams, of cocaine on him, McHenry County State's Attorney Patrick Kenneally said in a statement Friday.
Briley was traveling from Chicago to Minnesota with the drugs, authorities said.
