The Dixie Briggs Fromm Nature Preserve is owned by Dundee Township, through its Open Space District. The Open Space District was formed and approved by voters in 1996. Voters approved $18 million in bonds to fund land purchases, and the Dixie Briggs Fromm property was purchased, along with other properties throughout Dundee Township. The state of Illinois named the property an Illinois Nature Preserve.
