Fall into Fitness with Illinois Shotokan Karate

With summer coming to an end along with most outdoor activities, now is the perfect time to try a new sport! If you are looking for the best way to improve your overall fitness this fall, consider karate classes offered through Illinois Shotokan Karate Clubs (ISKC). Not only is karate a great workout, but it also increases strength, coordination, balance, and is a great way to meet new people.

Chief Instructor and founder John Di Pasquale, who is a four-time National champion and current president of the USA Karate Federation, teaches classes in addition to other skilled instructors who combined have over 50 years of experience teaching karate.

This program offers a variety of benefits for every student. One of the best ways parents can prevent or stop bullying is by enrolling their children in karate to develop confidence and self-defense skills. Through an assortment of fun and creative activities, kids will develop coordination, strength, and agility, while adults will experience an over all improvement in muscle tone and cardiovascular fitness.

“I think my training and experiences through karate have affected my daily life and given me confidence – especially in school. Before, I was not the greatest with presentations, but now I am Great with them,” said Eddie Allegretti, Age 17, Student at ISKC.

Karate classes are held Monday through Saturday, and are available to children as young as four years old, as well youth and adults making it perfect for students of all ages. Karate is an individual sport that allows you to progress at your own rate, but does offer exercises that include team elements as well.
