Fifteen Arrested at Underage Drinking Party

Sheriff's Deputies called out to party in unincorporated McHenry.

Fifteen people were arrested after were called to a party in unincorporated McHenry March 6.

According to the sherrif's office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 12:43 a.m. March 6 to the 2700 block of Old Oak Dr. in unincorporated McHenry after receiving a loud party complaint. During the investigation, deputies learned that 40 people had gathered for an underage drinking party.

Deputies made contact with the renter of the property, Marcos A. Barron, 22, who admitted he was hosting the party. While speaking with him, deputies observed a large number of people attempting to leave the residence or hide within the residence, according to the sheriff's office.

According to the sheriff's office, four 16-year-olds and two 17-year-olds, as well as eight people aged 18 to 20, were also present at this party. Four juveniles were cited for violation of curfew and two were cited for underage consumption of alcohol by a minor. All six were released to a parent or guardian. Eight other individuals were cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and released from the scene to an adult.

Barron was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. His bond was set at $20,000 and a court date of March 9 was set.
