Flood Warning Continues for Fox River; More Rain In Forecast Tuesday
Minor flooding is occurring along the Fox River, weather officials said late Monday night.
A flood warning remains in effect for portions of the Fox River, including the Algonquin Lock & Dam tailwater, with minor flooding currently occurring, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning covers areas along the river from Johnsburg downstream to Red Gate Road in St. Charles and affects parts of Kane, Lake and McHenry counties, according to the National Weather Service.
As of 8:30 p.m. Monday, the river stage measured 9.5 feet at the Algonquin gauge, which is at flood stage.

Minor flooding impacts are already being reported. At 9.5 feet, Fox River Drive in East Dundee is threatened by rising water, and boathouses along the river in Cary may also be at risk.
Residents living along rivers and streams are urged to take precautions to protect life and property while the warning remains in place, according to the National Weather Service.

Rainfall overnight and early Tuesday may further impact the Fox River. Another round of strong to severe storms is expected Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Weather officials say locally heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding.
