Free Flu Shots At New Algonquin MedExpress

Opening on Dec. 15, MedExpress is offering free flu shots to patients age four and up.

UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, MedExpress is canceling their open house celebration Thursday, Dec. 14 and will being normal operations on Friday.

From MedExpress: MedExpress Urgent Care, a neighborhood health care provider, will open a new neighborhood medical center in Algonquin on Friday, Dec. 15 at 226 S. Randall Rd. The new center will offer free flu shots to patients ages four and up, while supplies last, to help Algonquin residents prepare for flu season.

The Algonquin center will join two existing Chicago-area MedExpress locations in Lombard and Naperville, which both opened this fall.

The center will care for people of all ages, providing urgent care, employer health services and basic wellness and prevention services. Walk-in treatment is available for everyday illness and injury – including treatment for common winter ailments such as colds, flu, ear infections, upper respiratory infections, bronchitis and strep throat – as well as more advanced services including X-rays, IVs, labs, minor surgery, stitches and treatment for broken bones, sprains and strains. Local employers can use MedExpress for employer health services, which include workers’ compensation, injury care, pre- and ongoing employment screenings, physicals and regulatory exams. Basic wellness and prevention services available include sports physicals, routine physicals and immunizations to help Algonquin-area residents maintain overall good health and wellbeing.

The Algonquin center will have multiple exam rooms, a procedure room and an X-ray suite. The center will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with no appointment necessary. MedExpress accepts all major insurances and offers affordable pricing for those without insurance. The center will be staffed by a full medical team, which includes customer service representatives, nurses, medical providers and radiologic technologists. As a community health care partner, MedExpress believes strongly in the importance of working with fellow community health care providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. When necessary, the Algonquin team can help refer patients within the broader health care system, including referrals to specialists, primary care physicians and hospitals.
