Gander Mountain in Algonquin Did Not 'Make the Cut'

Liquidation sales remain underway at the store at 1400 S. Randall Road.

ALGONQUIN, IL - It appears the Gander Mountain in Algonquin is officially set to close. Marcus Lemonis, Camping World Chairman and CEO, recently took over as CEO of Gander Mountain and announced on his Twitter account Monday he planned to keep 70 or more Gander Mountain stores open. On Wednesday, he said the Algonquin store at 1400 S. Randall Road will not be among the locations selected to stay.

Signs are up at the Gander Mountain at 1400 S. Randall Road in Algonquin announcing liquidation sales at that store, and all 126 locations across the U.S. had planned to go out of business prior to Lemonis' announcement. On Monday evening, Lemonis' list of stores that would remain open included only three Gander Mountain stores in Illinois: Marion, Peoria and Springfield.

Lemonis has continued to provide updates via his Twitter account.
