Girl Approached by Driver in Sedan in 'Suspicious Incident'
Police said the District 158 student ran away and was not harmed following the incident Monday evening in Huntley.

HUNTLEY, IL - Huntley police are asking for the public’s help following a “suspicious incident” that occurred Monday evening in the Georgian Place subdivision in Huntley. Police said a girl was approached by two females in a white, four-door sedan in the area of Potomac Drive and Nantucket Lane shortly after 5 p.m. Monday.
The driver asked the District 158 student, who was walking on the sidewalk, to get into the vehicle, Adam Dean, Chief Security Officer for District 158, wrote in a letter to parents on Tuesday.
“The student acted appropriately in running to a neighbor’s house, and the incident was promptly reported to Huntley Police,” Dean said.

Huntley police are increasing patrol efforts in the area. And the District 158 Transportation Department is aware of this incident, and “bus drivers will remain vigilant when picking up and dropping off students at bus stops,” Dean said. The school has social workers, counselors, and psychologists available for any student who needs additional support.
