Goodwill Employee Finds, Returns $2,300 Left In Donated Box
A bank envelope with $2,300 in cash was left at the Huntley Goodwill.

HUNTLEY, IL –A Goodwill employee who found $2,300 mistakenly left in a donated box at a Huntley store quickly sprung into action to try to track the owner down. The attendant was sorting donations when he came upon the bank envelope with the cash in a hat box that had been donated, according to a news release from Goodwill. The employee immediately brought the envelope to a manager.
The manager used footage from a store security camera to identify the box being unloaded in the donation area. The manager was able to figure out the make, model and license plate of the car, according to the news release.
She then called police with the hopes of tracking the car down. Local police were able to find the car’s owner and Goodwill returned the $2,300 to the customer, according to a news release.
