Homeless Man Arrested On Attempted Trespassing Charges
A 30-year-old man now faces charges for attempted to enter homes in Lake in the Hills last month.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A 30-year-old homeless man accused of trying to enter several homes in Lake in the Hills is in custody on attempted criminal trespassing charges.
Justin J. Schneck, 30, has been charged with two counts of attempted criminal trespassing to a residence following his Monday arrest. The arrest comes following an investigation by the Lake in the Hills Police Department into reports made by residents regarding a man who tried to enter their homes, according to a news release from the Lake in the Hills Police Department.
One resident reported the man entered their garage, according to police. The incidents happened during the early morning hours of May 28.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department received several tips after posting information about the attempted trespassing incidents on its Facebook page in May. Those tips and investigative work by local officers led to Schneck being identified as a suspect.
"The Lake in the Hills Police Department would like to thank everyone who submitted a tip pertaining to this case and the community members who shared our statement to help bring awareness to this case," police said in a news release.

Schneck is currently in custody at the Stephenson County Sheriff's Office for an unrelated incident.
