Human Skull Found In Forest Preserve Prompts Investigation
Authorities say remains appear to have been exposed to the elements for an extended period and have not yet been identified.
KANE COUNTY, IL — A person walking in Raceway Woods Forest Preserve in Kane County discovered what appeared to be a human skull on Sunday, prompting a police investigation, officials said.
Carpentersville police and the Kane County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene after a person walking at the forest preserve found what appeared to be a human skull around 5:12 p.m. Officials later confirmed the remains were human and appeared to have been exposed to the elements for an extended period, according to Shaw Local.
The investigation remains ongoing, with no identification made and no additional leads developed, according to authorities.
